About Me

Hi, I’m Erica Finamore — a writer, editor, and content strategist who loves great design, meaningful storytelling, and beautiful places to stay.

For nearly 15 years, I’ve created lifestyle content for brands like Real Simple, HGTV Magazine, Food Network Magazine, and InStyle. Most recently, I was the Home & Travel Director at Real Simple, where I oversaw everything from home design stories and travel features to the brand’s signature Real Simple Home program — a show house series that brought design ideas to life and reached millions of readers each year.

My work lives at the intersection of design, travel, and storytelling. I love finding hotels with a sense of place, spotlighting creative interiors, and sharing the small details that make a space—or a story—feel special. I’m also passionate about helping brands tell their stories in ways that feel fresh, thoughtful, and human.

I live on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with my husband, Keaton, and our dog, Leslie Knope, who keeps us both on our toes (and definitely lives up to her name). When I’m not writing or editing, you’ll probably find me exploring a new neighborhood, scrolling for hotel inspiration, or planning my next trip—ideally somewhere design-y with great food and strong coffee.
